I have over 30 years of experience in both corporate and leisure travel management, and have been a self-employed Travel Broker with Helloworld since 2012. I have consistently driven year-over-year business growth.

I have been awarded a Top 10 Broker for SEVEN consecutive trading years and in 2024 I was awarded THE TOP Individual Broker of the year, a huge achievement with just under 100 Travel Brokers!

Emirates Airlines has rewarded me with a trip to Dubai for top sales with the airline, hosted with other agents and brokers from New Zealand and Australia for 4 days in this fascinating city of contrasts, experiencing all the top sightseeing attractions in Dubai.

Globus and Cosmos Coach Touring and Avalon River Cruises awarded me for being The Travel Brokers Top Selling Consultant for 2015/16.  I love coach touring, having let the experts plan the itinerary, do the driving, and look after all the logistics of the accommodation and sightseeing – all there is left for you to do is to sit back and enjoy the experience!  I have travelled this way through the United Kingdom with Cosmos and most of Western Europe with Contiki, as well as a 10-day West Coast United States of America with Cosmos.

 

In 2019 I was awarded the Matai Fiji Tourism Expert and was rewarded with a 3-night stay at the gorgeous Six Senses Spa and Resort on Malolo Island, flying Fiji Airlines.  Having holidayed in Fiji now, 20+ times and holidayed several times in Vanuatu, Rarotonga, Tahiti, Samoa, and Noumea. I am a certified South Pacific Expert. Whether you are after a 5 star luxury resort, a family resort with packages like “kids stay, play & eat free”, or an all-inclusive resort where your activities, meals and drinks are all included - it is likely that I have either stayed there, or have visited it!  Family holidays are of special interest to me, with my 2 teenagers, I am always keeping an eye out for great family deals and will happily talk through all the pros and cons of the varying resort options for you to compare. You get my first-hand experience!  In November 2024 I was hosted by Fiji Tourism to spend 7 nights in the gorgeous Yasawa Islands experiencing 7 different resorts

Having a passion for Asia, I have explored Bali and Singapore several times and visited both Hong Kong and Macau. I have travelled throughout Thailand - one of my all-time favourite spots in the world is the Elephant Hills Sanctuary and Lake Safari in the Khao Sok National Park, north of Phuket. Vietnam is a fascinating country with interesting history and such a diverse culture and beautiful landscapes.  Halong Bay was a highlight.

Canada also ranks highly in my favourite travel memories - in July 2019 we did the Calgary Stampede, Banff and Lake Louise on the fabulous Rocky Mountaineer Rail Journey.  Vancouver is a gorgeous city and a day trip out to Victoria was not long enough.  A highlight was 3-nights in Whistler, absorbing the amazing alpine resort atmosphere.

Cruising is an incredibly popular way to travel. 2 weeks on Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas around Spain, Portugal, Majorca, the highlight being Gibraltar. 7 nights on The Pride of America visiting the Hawaiian Islands; 7 nights on the gorgeous NCL’s Escape ex Miami in the Caribbean - she was only launched 4 months prior.  We loved the 7 night Alaska Vancouver to Anchorage cruise on NCL’s Jewel with the highlight jaw dropping Hubbard Glacier.

Short cruises are so much fun and are as equally as enjoyable.  4-nights ex Singapore on Royal Caribbean’s Voyager of the Seas, 3 cruises through New Zealand waters Holland America Line’s MS Volendam, and the Genteng Dream’s inaugural 7-night circumnavigation cruise of New Zealand with the incredible grandeur of the 2020 New Year’s morning cruise through the Milford & Doubtful sounds. I am lucky enough to have experienced the gorgeous 4 night Yasawa Island’s Blue Lagoon Cruise in Fiji twice.

With two active boys, theme parks can be a highlight of our holiday. In May 2016 we did Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure Park in Anaheim, Universal Studios with the newly opened Harry Potter World was a highlight! Legoland, SeaWorld and San Diego Zoo and African Safari Park completed this fantastic family holiday full of theme parks and adventures!  Just over a year later in July 2017 we did Orlando doing Disneyworld (all 5 parks) plus the 3 parks of Universal, and we had a fascinating day out at Cape Canaveral at NASA.

I am well qualified with the highest level in Travel, - NZQA Level 4 of ATTTO, and I have 8 papers in NZIM Management. I am a certified fully trained cruise specialist and an Ambassador member of CLIA (Cruise Line International Association).

I support many fundraising efforts in my wonderful community, Waimauku School and both the Huapai-Kumeu and the Waimauku Lions Clubs, Paws Restart and the Waimauku Scouts group where our two boys were involved.
