Please accept however that these charges are not within our control, therefore we reserve the right to pass on any increase. Travel agent professional service fees where charged, will be additional to the advertised prices. A selection of rental car costs has been included which can be added to the self drive tours. NOTE: Cost is Per Rental Per Day. Rental Requirements: - Customers must have been eligible to hold a valid driving licence for 8-12 years of which 2 years must be at a full driver's licence qualification. - Visitors from overseas must produce a driving licence issued in their permanent country of residence, along with a translation into English (where appropriate). - Renters are required to have a major credit card to provide a deposit. - Only the renter or drivers approved by AVIS are permitted to drive the vehicle. - Reservations must be made 2 days in advance. Age Requirements: - Minimum 25 years of age. The renter must be over 25 years old to rent standard cars in Ireland. - For any customers that are aged 75 years and over, Avis require the following: Confirm that you drive on a regular basis, Provide Avis with a letter from your insurance company to confirm that you have an up to date insurance policy, and have not had any accident in the past 5 years AND Provide Avis with a letter from your doctor confirming that you are in good health and fit to drive. - The AVIS rental agent may ask to sit into the car with you to assess your driving. Additional Driver Requirements: - There is an additional fee for authorised additional drivers. This is to be paid directly to Avis at the time of rental. Payment and Deposit Requirements: - Renters are required to have a major credit card or debit card to provide a deposit. Deposit amount will be dependent on rental vehicle. - An Avis-honored credit card will be required at time of checkout for any other charges not included in the prepaid program, e.g., fuel, Additional Liability Insurance, one-way service fees etc. - Avis accepts the following credit cards for payment: American Express (excluding American Express Traveller's Cheque cards), Diners cards, Discover cards, Mastercard credit cards, Visa credit cards, Avis-issued charge cards. - Cash is not accepted. - For some vehicles, two payment cards in renter's name will be required. One of these must be a credit card, in addition to the payment card used to make the rental vehicle booking. - A pre-authorisation on your payment card will be required. The amount of the pre-authorisation taken on pick-up of the rental vehicle is calculated based on the cost of rental, cost of excess and full tank of fuel. Prices shown are based on per person costs in New Zealand Dollars, for payment by cash, cheque or eftpos only. Credit card sales not permitted unless Travel Agent acts as a merchant. Capacity limitations apply and may not be available on all services. Travel requiring an overnight stay in New Zealand will be at passengers own expense. Events beyond our control such as currency fluctuations and changes to the price of aviation fuel may result in price variations. Strict cancellation fees apply.
